Endless world
Perpetualfire

Perpetual Fire are a relatively new Italian formation around the PANDAEMONUIM guitarist Steve Volta who has been also responsible for text, music and production. Their style could be described as melodious neo classic Powermetal ranging to the tradition of their compatriots as RHAPSODY and LABYRINTH or comparable to the genre northern lights as STRATOVARIUS and SONATA ARCTICA. They present their debut with “Endless World”.

After the melancholic intro “Medusa’s Secret” they grandiosely begin with that wonderful “Superstitions” which reminds a lot to SONATA ARCTICA and the extremely fast “Shadows Call”. The high speed, the elaborate melodies, the transparent sound and the virtuoso guitar solo – everything is just perfect.
“Maybe” begins with neo classic melody bows and calm sentence singing in order to brace soon up for “hit qualities” as rectilinear catchy tune number. As already in “Superstitions” Roby Beccalli surprises in “Leave me alone” with croaked witches-growls which represent a brilliant contrast to the extremely agreeable refrain. It would be unthinkable for above mentioned colleagues but for PERPETUAL FIRE it’s working as if it would be the most natural thing of the world.

In resembling varied manners but never leaving the tight stylistic corset they continue from title to title – no need to analyse verbally every single title.
Only: ”Castle OF MY SOULS”, “THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM “ and “ENDLESS WORLD” should fill with enthusiasm even inveterate fans of Yngwie Malmsteen and/or Helloween.

A very interesting Cover version of the old BLONDIE’s classic “Call me” and the Video of “Maybe” are additional bonus tracks .

All in all this first publication is “value for money” and for genre fans more worth than only listening a bit to it.

Recommendations : Superstitions, Maybe, Castle of my Souls, Endless World
